Applications

Zirconium alloy is a non-ferrous alloy composed of zirconium as a matrix with other elements. Zirconium alloy has a good property of resistant-corrosion, moderate mechanical property, low atomic thermal neutron absorption cross-section in high-temperature and high-pressure water and steam at 300~400℃, and has good compatibility with nuclear fuel. It is mostly used as the core structure material of water-cooled nuclear reactor. 


Zirconium alloy can also be used as a vitamin in the metallurgical industry, exerting its powerful functions of deoxidation, nitrogen removal and desulphurization. As long as one thousandth of zirconium is added to the steel, the hardness and strength will be surprisingly improved. Armor steel, stainless steel and heat-resistant steel containing zirconium are important materials for defense weapons such as armored vehicles, tanks, artillery, and bulletproof plates.

FeSiZr Inoculant

Product Profile

Inoculants can promote graphitization, reduce chill tendency, improve graphite morphology and distribution, increase the number of eutectic cell, and refine the matrix structure. It has a good effect in a short time (about 5-8 minutes) after inoculation treatment.

Performance and Features

●   It can help control the nitrogen content, prolong the inoculation effect, and can eliminate the impact of nitrogen on castings.

●   It can obviously improve the graphite structure, improve the mechanical properties of castings, reduce the section sensitivity and chill tendency of castings.

Applications

1.It is suitable for the production of gray cast iron, vermicular graphite cast iron and nodular cast iron with high quality requirements.

2.It is mainly used for castings such as machine tools, cylinder blocks and cylinder heads.

How to use

1.Add the inoculant to the package, pour it into the molten iron to make it melt evenly, and then can be cast.

2.The added amount is about 0.2-0.4% of the weight of molten iron.
