Ferro Zirconium

Product description

Zirconium is a rare metal. In the steelmaking process, zirconium is a powerful deoxidation and nitrogen removal element. Zirconium can refine the austenitic grains of steel, and it can also synthesize zirconium sulfide with sulfur, so it can prevent the hot brittleness of steel. Zirconium also has the advantages of reducing the strain aging phenomenon of steel and improving the low-temperature toughness of steel. A small amount of zirconium is conducive to the graphitization of white cast iron, shortening the annealing time in the production of ductile cast iron. Frequently used ferrozirconium are silicon-zirconium ferroalloys, aluminum-zirconium ferroalloys, and silicon-zirconium alloys.

Performance and Features

Zirconium is a rare metal. In the steelmaking process, zirconium is a powerful deoxidation and nitrogen removal element. Zirconium can refine the austenitic grains of steel, and it can also synthesize zirconium sulfide with sulfur, so it can prevent the hot brittleness of steel. Zirconium also has the advantages of reducing the strain aging phenomenon of steel and improving the low-temperature toughness of steel. A small amount of zirconium is conducive to the graphitization of white cast iron, shortening the annealing time in the production of ductile cast iron.

Applications

As a deoxidizer and alloying additive, FeZr is used in superalloys, low-alloy high-strength steels, ultra-high-strength steels and cast iron for special applications, and then used in atomic technology, aviation manufacturing, radio technology, etc.
